8th Annual PSL Maritime Day Run
Precious Shipping PCL, observed World Maritime Day by organizing “The 8th PSL Maritime Day Run” at Lumpini Park on Wednesday, 19th January, 2011.
World Maritime Day is used to focus attention on the importance of shipping safety, maritime security and the marine environment and to emphasize a particular aspect of IMO’s work.
The World Maritime Day theme for this year is “World Maritime Day 2011: Piracy: Orchestrating the response”
The lives, safety of the seafarers and the marine environment is very much dependent on the smooth sailing of the vessels at sea. With piracy in the Gulf of Aden / Indian Ocean the on the upsurge, it is important that this serious concern is brought to the attention of all the citizens of the world in whose service the ships and seafarers go out to sea.
7th Annual PSL Maritime Day Run
Precious Shipping PCL, observed World Maritime Day by organizing “The 7th PSL Maritime Day Run” at Lumpini Park on Friday, 15th January, 2010.
World Maritime Day is used to focus attention on the importance of shipping safety, maritime security and the marine environment and to emphasize a particular aspect of IMO’s work.
The World Maritime Day theme for this year is “2010 : The Year of the Seafarer” . Perhaps, befitting to the theme, the PSL run this year had a sizeable number of participants both from the PSL fleet and students from the Merchant Marine Training Center, the seafarers of tomorrow.
6th Annual PSL Maritime Day Run
Precious Shipping Plc, commemorated the World Maritime Day by organizing “The 6th PSL Maritime Day Run” at Lumpini Park on Friday, 9th January, 2009.
Every year International Maritime organization (IMO) celebrates World Maritime day, to focus attention on the importance of safety in shipping operations and protecting the marine environment.
This year the theme for the world Maritime Day 2009 is “Safe ships and green shipping” in consonance with International Maritime Organization’s celebrations of 60 years in the service of shipping. IMO’s main task has been to develop and maintain a comprehensive regulatory framework for shipping and its remit today includes safety, environmental concerns, legal matters, technical co-operation, maritime security and the efficiency of shipping.

This year the theme for the world Maritime Day 2008 is “IMO’s response to current environmental challenges”. This theme reflects the importance given to preserving the world environment and showcase contributions of shipping industry towards the same. PSL, as a responsible ship-owner, fully supports the IMO in its endeavors; and the Annual Maritime Day runs organized in Bangkok is but a small attempt to focus attention on IMO and its laudable activities
